An Inspiring Evening with Ron Segev

Tuesday, Jan 14th 7:30p to 10:00pJoin us for an inspiring evening with Ron Segev. It is important for our Jewish community to hear these stories of survival from the Nova Music Festival on October 7th, 2023. Here is Ron Segev's bio: Ron Segev is a Nova Music Festival Survivor. He is 39 years old and lives in Tel Aviv. He is an accomplished professional bridge player and teacher and proudly represented Israel on the Israeli team that won the World Bridge Championship in 2006. He also has a background in sales. On October 7, 2023, Ron attended the Nova Music Festival with his brother and a number of friends. When the explosions, gunshots and terrified screams suddenly replaced the sounds of music and happiness, Ron had to run for his life. He became separated from his friends amid the chaos. Ron and his brother repeatedly skirted the razor’s edge of life and death. They barely escaped from the onslaught of the terrorists and witnessed death around them. After commandeering an abandoned car, they rescued many other people and ultimately escaped to safety despite the heavy gunfire. Even with the passage of over one year, the community of 3,500 Nova Festival Survivors experiences the feeling of October 8th every day. They suffer from extreme symptoms of post-traumatic syndrome. They face daily challenges while attempting to rebuild their lives and return to some sense of normalcy. Ron has shared his testimony around the world including at the Nova Exhibition and now is the head of the Ambassador Program for the Tribe of Nova Foundation, which is a dedicated non-profit organization that provides critical psychological, emotional, social, and welfare support to Nova Survivors. The main goal of the Tribe of Nova Foundation is to raise funds, but they also provide speakers for universities, high schools, and middle schools to raise awareness. Ron has spoken in homes with small groups, synagogues, and corporations and has also spoken in front of large crowds of up to 10,000 people. He also speaks to companies including law firms, investment finance firms, and tech firms to name just a few. Ron's passion is to spread the Tribe of Nova's work and mission to foster awareness and collective healing.
