TIKKUN OLAM NEWS

We are still “kvelling” over the beautiful Tikkun Olam Shabbat on April 26. Guest speaker, Sharon Haxton of the Community Partnership for the Homeless, was truly inspirational and left us with many insights. We extend a big thank-you to all our members who participated in the service and to those who attended.

Our attention is now focused on the summer. We have always worked with Camp Boggy Creek to help supply cancer-stricken children with clothing and supplies. Please join in our efforts as we collect new or like-new items appropriate for campers. As you shop for your own child, please remember a less fortunate one. Donations can be dropped off in the container outside the Temple office.

We are honored to have one of our members recognized for her volunteerism. Debbie Rosenkranz has been working at the downtown Community Partnership and was recently honored at a volunteer luncheon. Debby has been serving lunches and working in the office every Thursday. Under her lead, a group of Tikkun Olamers joined her to serve lunch on Easter Sunday. It was truly a win-win situation, as we came away feeling that we had gotten as much as we had given.

Our next meeting is May 13 at 7:30. As always, we extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us. Feel free to call me for more information.

Barry Gubernick
