We are strengthening our links to Israel in recognition of Israel's 60th anniversary. We have been given an Israel Destination grant to fund systemic or regular moments of connecting to Israel and Israel infused activities. Come to Bet Shira for Israeli coffee or wine on Shabbat. Join us for Israeli snacks at social gatherings. Read our bulletin's regular column of Israel information.

On March 9 we will do a Tikkun Olam clean up of the Bet Shira grounds and place Israeli placards with Israeli facts around the Bet Shira complex. Participate in our Alef-Bet Art Project with a registration date of March 18. Hebrew is one of the official languages of Israel and an important identification with Judaism link. Please attend our in-house Hebrew Marathon on April 13.

Israeli songs will be part of every service from now until Israel Independence Day in May. Come listen, sing the classic and contemporary Israeli songs, experiencing one more link with Israel.

Watch our Bet Shira weekly emails for internet links to major informational Israeli sites including newspapers, journals and governmental and cultural portals to Israeli society. Stop by the office and glance at an Israeli paper or periodical.

Israel investment clubs are in formation. These clubs will invest fictitious funds in the Tel Aviv stock market following time spent researching the companies, their locations in Israel, and how they contribute to Global markets. Please join us for an opening session in mid march to kick off the groups and listen to a expert financial advisor. Internet communication is paramount today. Details will be forthcoming in our weekly Schedule of Events. If you are not on the email list, please go to www.betshira.org and sign up now. Call the synagogue for more information and sign up for one of the Israeli Investment Clubs.

We are planning an Israel Day on Shabbat May 3, celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut. Join the committee in planning a full day of Israel programs and then attend Israel Day.

Israel is the place of origin of Judaism; it is both ancient and modern and the only democracy in the Middle East. We are committed to connecting to Israel during this year of Israel's 60th Anniversary.
